Paperwork Breakdown

April 14th - Verbal approval of I-800 (FINALLY)
April 20th - Received I-800 approval in the mail (4 snail mail days)
Now we wait for the letter (via snail mail) from NVC that they received our approval, hoping to get it tomorrow.
We then will scan the letter & email it to our agency. Who will then, send all our documents to China & hand deliver to the Consulate in Guangzhou. It then takes an average of 2 weeks for our Article 5 to be generated & available for pick up at the Consulate. Our agency will then pick it up, express mails to their staff in Beijing & then hand deliver it to the CCAA. Once it arrives at CCAA, it takes 2-3 weeks for Travel Approval (TA) Then it will be about 2-3 weeks till travel.
So if you are still following along - we are now looking at travel in June, I PRAY!
Does anybody else see how ridiculous this process is?? If the US would get their crap together & cut out the snail mail this process could be sped up by weeks! If I didn't have to wait on the snail mail, I could literally have traveled a month sooner even with the typo mistake on my homestudy. Something seriously needs to be done to streamline this process. We are currently almost 2 months past referral & Emily turned 7 months on the 22nd. I hate that we are missing these months with her! I asked for updated pics last week so hopefully, we will get some this week.
