FINALLY MADE IT!

We finally arrived in Beijing on July 2nd! The airport was one disater after another. We arrived at the airport at 11 am as told by the Delta staff, only to quickly realize that Delta did not have enough staff to check everyone in. We were not able to check in via the kiosks & ended up waiting in line for 2 hours to be reticketed for our 2pm flight, so by 1pm we had our new tickets. We made it over to the gate & shopped around. Soon they came over the loud speaker announcing that the flight was delayed to 2:30. When 2:30 rolled around, then the announced "This plan is officially broken!" We were directed to another gate & told that we were getting on a plane that was in perfect working order. When the plane finally took off there was clapping & hoots & hollers from everyone on the plane. We arrived at our hotel around 7 pm, dirty & starving. We had a quick meal & then ran to the market for some water & we were passed out in the room shortly after. Tomorrow is the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, a jade factory, and the Great Wall!
